KILLINGTON – The Killington Pico Area Association has partnered with the Killington-Pico Rotary for the Fifth Annual Ice-Out Contest, the organizations announced Monday, Dec. 21. The challenge is to guess the exact month, day and time that the ice will “go out” on the Summit Pond.

The annual contest takes place on the Summit Pond located in front of The Foundry restaurant.  The moment of ‘ice-out’ is determined when a 72-pound block of concrete falls through the ice and a clock stops to record the exact time. The individual guessing closest to (or the exact) Ice-Out will receive $1,000 cash and a Killington Community Prize Package. Tickets may be purchased online at www.KillingtonPico.org or ticket sales box at located at select Killington businesses.

Tickets are $5/guess, $10 for 3 guesses and $20 for 7 guesses, and proceeds from the contest will support KPAA beautification fundraising efforts and the Killington-Pico Rotary Scholarship Fund.
