Ice causes head-on collision on Route 107

 STOCKBRIDGE—On March 3 at about 11 a.m., Barbara Kessel, age 66 of Shelburne, Vt., hit a patch of ice on Route 107 in Stockbridge, losing control of her vehicle and crossing into the oncoming lane. Donna Thompson, age 58 of Pittsfield, Vt., driving in the oncoming lane, was unable to avoid hitting her and the two vehicles hit head-on. Both drivers suffered minor injuries in the crash and were taken to Gifford Medical Center. Both drivers were wearing their seat belts, according to police at the scene. Kessel’s 2008 Subaru Legacy and Thompson’s 2010 RAV 4 both sustained heavy front end damage.
