Fridays mean fun things to do in Fair Haven

FAIR HAVEN — Looking for something to do on a Friday night? Fair Haven has a variety of events scheduled now through the month of October for folks of all ages.

The Fair Haven Street Market takes place every Friday 4-7 p.m. from now until Oct. 15 and is located at the south end of the park near the cannon. There are a variety of local vendors with unique items for sale along with fresh produce and baked good. Some of the markets also include live music performed in the gazebo.

After the pandemic put a pause on our Fair Haven Fridays for the 2020 season, we are excited to announce their return. We have scheduled our first event for Friday, Aug. 27 at 6 p.m. when Fair Haven Fridays welcomes Blaine Goad Magic to downtown Fair Haven.

New to Fair Haven Fridays this year are Movies on the Green. On Aug. 27, we are showing “Ice Age – The Great Eggscape” at 7:30 p.m. On Sept. 17, we will be showing “Ferdinand” at 7:30 p.m. Bring a blanket or your lawn chairs and enjoy a movie under the stars in our beautiful park.

Our final Fair Haven Friday event will be held on Oct. 15 and is the return of the very popular wine, cheese and spirits tasting. Brewers, distillers, and cheese! Oh my! We hope to make this one an annual event due to its overwhelming popularity. To add to the festivities of the evening, which begins downtown at 6 p.m., you can listen to the band Trade Winds. They will play some classic rock while visitors sample bourbon, beer, mead, and cheese. There will also be opportunities to buy a bottle of your favorite spirits to take home.
