February is Adopt a Rescued Rabbit Month!

RCHS would like to remind you that February is Adopt a Rescued Rabbit Month. Just like birds and other small animals, rabbits are often forgotten when thinking about adopting a new pet, but they are actually the third most likely animals to find themselves looking for a new home. Rabbits make excellent companions, and are just as lovable as other pets. If you are looking for a pet that has the social qualities of a dog but doesn’t have time for a daily walk, rabbits are the perfect pal! They are most active at dawn and dark, so they are ready to bond when you’re getting home from work. They love to play and are very curious about new toys, especially if it’s something they can climb up on to get a better view of their surroundings. They love to get treats of fresh fruit and veggies. They can also be litter box trained, just like cats! To learn more about the rabbits at RCHS that are looking for new homes, call the adoption center at 802-483-6700 or visit our website at rchsvt.org.
