By Ceil Hunt

Thursday, June 30 — FAIR HAVEN —The Vermont National Guard and the Office of the Adjutant General are proud to present “Vermont’s Own” 40th Army Band for their 2022 summer tour. The Fair Haven Concerts in the Park will be welcoming them here on Thursday, June 30, to kick off its concert series, which will be eight weeks long.

Like all the Concerts in the Park, this free concert will begin at 7 p.m. The band will perform at the north end of the park and there will be no intermission. A 50/50 raffle will be held and the drawing will be held at the end of the concert. Since there is no intermission, we will not have a door prize drawing. The drawings for door prizes will begin at our second concert.

Members of the 40th Army Band serve one weekend a month and two weeks of annual training each year in the Vermont Army National Guard.

As civilians the rest of the year, they are engaged in such diverse occupations as education, law, security, technology, medicine, and sales.

We are very excited about their upcoming visit. The concert will feature traditional patriotic American tunes, as well as contemporary musical favorites. You will not want to miss this performance.

There will be hot dogs, popcorn, water, and sodas for purchase each week as long as we can hold the concerts outdoors. We may have a few free ice cream nights, too. Watch t for more information about that, and to learn more about the artists who will be performing.

This year, the Congregational Church at the north end of the park has opened the doors to serve as a rain location.
