Date night in Killington returns, offering fun child care

Saturday, Dec. 17 at 2 p.m.—KILLINGTON—Ever find yourself needing some time without the kiddos? The Killington Recreation Department summer camp staff is offering just that on Saturday, Dec. 17. Drop off children off at the Killington Town Office for games, crafts, movies, and snacks, while parents enjoy a day or night to themselves. These date nights are geared to serve 2-13 year olds, and if there is an older child, they can come and be a special helper. This upcoming date night is from 2-8 p.m., giving parents enough time to get some holiday shopping in. Dinner will be provided for the kids and they will be too busy with holiday crafts and games to even notice that mom and dad left. The cost is $40 per child and $5 for any additional siblings.
New this year, organizers have paired with local restaurants and retail shops to get parents a discount. This will give the parents ideas on what to do while there kids are being supervised, or a chance to try some place they have never been before. Last year, the Killington Rec. Dept.  held 10 date nights and the kids always looked forward to it. This year, they plan to offer two a month. For January these dates will be: Friday, Jan. 13 and Saturday, Jan. 28. Keep a lookout for the times, and register at killingtonrec.com.
