Creating a white Christmas

Courtesy of Killington Resort, By Chandler Burgess

A snow gun creates winter storms at Killington Resort when Mother Nature doesn’t deliver. Skiing and riding is still possible for the holidays.

“The Polar Vortex is more fun than this pesky El Niño,” wrote Killington Resort personnel in their newsletter The Drift. While “The Beast of the East” can’t change global weather patterns they can take advantage of every dip in temperature and crank up the winter-making machines.
Snowmaking systems at Killington, Okemo and at resorts across the state will be working around the clock every chance they get to deliver that white Christmas we’ve all been dreaming of.
While it continues to be unseasonably warm (and brown, even green in some areas!) Killington is enveloped in “a full-on Beast Blizzard… a sight for snow-starved eyes,” added resort personnel.
