KILLINGTON — Santa Mamba will perform a free concert at the Killington Resort’s K-1 Base Area on Saturday, Aug. 2 from 3:30-6 p.m. The free concert is part of the Town of Killington’s Cooler in the Mountains summer concert series.

Santa Mamba is best described as a mix-up of musical styles and personalities. Rock, salsa, reggaeton, funk, bachata, disco, bolero…all these elements can be found in Santa Mamba’s Latin Rock sounds. While many  “Latin” bands consist of musicians with a shared ethnic heritage, Santa Mamba’s story is radically different. Formed in the small state of Rhode Island, members of the band come from diverse backgrounds, from small American towns to Latin American nations. The members have little in common, except for the fact that each and every one of them was born with a passion for music. Between the band’s 2012 studio album “Mother Culture” and their high-energy shows, they have gained a loyal following.

Cooler in the Mountains performances are scheduled every Saturday afternoon, through August 30. The concerts are free and guests are encouraged to bring lawn blankets and chairs to enjoy the scenic views from the Resort’s Roaring Brook Umbrella Bars. All in attendance will have the chance to win a 2014-2015 Killington Season Pass, which will be given away at the conclusion of the concert series. The next concert on Aug. 9 features Entrain.
