Saturday, Oct. 24 at 7:30 p.m. — BRANDON — Classical pianist Monica Jakuc (pronounced Ya’kutch) Leverett presents “Moonlit Hits and Little-known Gems,” a program of all-time classical piano favorites, mixed with beautiful, rare pieces at Brandon Music on Oct. 24 at 7:30 p.m. Ms. Jakuc Leverett will perform Beethoven’s “Moonlight” Sonata, Debussy’s “Clair de lune” and Schubert’s Impromptu in Bb Major, Op. 142, No. 3. Less well-known, but equally stunning, are New England composer Amy Beach’s nature pieces, which Ms. Jakuc Leverett likes to call “A Day in the Woods with Amy Beach.” This group consists of two hermit thrush pieces, plus musical portrayals of a chipmunk, a hummingbird and young birches. A group of études for piano by Polish composer Maria Szymanowska, half a generation older than Chopin, will also be included. They will be presented with études by her contemporaries J.B. Cramer, Marie Bigot, and Frédéric Chopin.

Concert tickets are $20. A pre-concert dinner is also available for $20. Reservations are recommended for the show and required for dinner. Venue is BYOB.
