Chandler screens final film in series, begins April vacation theater camps

Students enjoy theatre camp at Chandler, a combined effort with Chelsea Funnery, during school vacation.

RANDOLPH — Chandler Center for the Arts is mid-way through a busy April, continuing offerings to all ages.

The Chandler Film Society’s final offering this year is “Mother”(1996) by Albert Brooks, on Sunday, April 17 at 6:30 p.m. Brooks wrote, directed, and stars in this biting comedy about a writer undergoing a mid-life crisis. In an effort to discover the root of his problems, he decides to move back in with his mother (Debbie Reynolds). The film shows in the Upper Gallery.

Then, Chandler and the Chelsea Funnery present three April vacation Theatre Intensive camps taught by Kailie Larkin, co-director of the Chelsea Funnery. There are opportunities for all ages. Sessions include “Shakespeare’s World: A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” “Master Class: Shakespeare Scenes,” and “Long-form Improv: the Armando!” Classes will be held during the week of April 18-22.
