Friday, Jan. 15 from 5-7 p.m.—RUTLAND—The Chaffee Art Center, your center for creativity, invites the community to the opening of its new exhibit, Pictures and Words on Jan. 15 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. An RSVP is required to attend.
The exhibit will feature many talented authors and illustrators. Fran Bull and B.Amore will have solo featured galleries. Sandy Gartner and Emily Casey will be featured in the third gallery. Plus, many others will be on display throughout the first floor of the mansion: Joe Citro/Robert Waldo Brunelle Jr.; Yvonne Daley; Nancy Snow/Norma Montaigne; Mary Crowley; Steve Halford; Carolyn Shattuck; Bob Lloyd; and Stephane Schaffer.
Chaffee artist members will also have work on display and for sale in the upstairs galleries, as well as in the Gallery Shoppe that is filled with handmade treasures and gift ideas for any occasion, or even for yourself! This exhibit will be up until Feb. 26.
Please RSVP as a limited number of attendees will be allowed at one time in the mansion. Reserve your half hour time slot at 5 p.m., 5:30 p.m., 6 p.m. or 6:30 p.m. by calling 802-775-0356 or emailing info@chaffeeartcenter.org to reserve. There is no charge for admittance. A donation would be greatly appreciated.
As it celebrates 60 years as an art center in the Rutland Community, Chaffee also invites you to join as an artist, single or family member to help it to continue to inspire and cultivate creativity, while positively impacting the vitality of our community through the arts.
Visit the Chaffee during open hours to experience the beauty of the 1890s historic building and the wonderful works of art throughout, plus the gallery shoppe! While there, picture your next event, bridal shower, wedding, meeting or retreat being held in the beautiful 1890s mansion, fondly known by its first owners as Sunny Gables.
Hours are Thursday and Friday 12-4 p.m.; Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Private appointments available by request.
