Chaffee features husband and wife artists, Huntoon and Millarc

Saturday, Nov. 1 at 5 p.m. — RUTLAND — Chaffee Downtown is pleased to present “Oil & Water,” featuring husband and wife artists, Peter Huntoon and Mareva Millarc. The title, “Oil & Water” references the mediums of oil and watercolor paint and the marriage between Huntoon and Millarc, who use both media.

The exhibit will open Saturday, Nov. 1 with a reception from 5 – 7 p.m.; wine and light tapas will be served. The exhibit will run through Saturday, Nov. 29.

During the exhibit, Huntoon will give a painting demonstration at the Chaffee Downtown Gallery on Friday, Nov. 14 at 6 p.m. Huntoon will discuss his techniques during this live demonstration.

Millarc will instruct an introductory abstract painting lesson at Chaffee’s Wednesday evening “Sip n’ Dip” painting class on Nov. 5, at 6:30 p.m. at the Chaffee Downtown Gallery. All materials including canvas, paint, brushes, smocks and instructions will be included. Cost is $30 or $25 for Chaffee members. The event is BYOB. Bring a friend and favorite bottle of wine for a evening of fun and creativity.

Chaffee Downtown is located at 75 Merchant’s Row and open Tuesday through Friday, 12-6 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Chaffee will be closed Thursday, Nov. 27 in observance of Thanksgiving.
