Chaffee Arts Center seeks photos for annual amateur photo contest

Friday and Saturday, April 8-9—RUTLAND— The Chaffee Arts Center is calling for photography for its upcoming exhibit titled “images of our world,” in which amateur photographers will be judged within age categories: youth (12 & under), teen (13-18) and adult (18+). A People’s Choice will also be given in each category. 

Selected works will be on display from April 15 to May 27.

The contest is open to amateur photographers only. All works must be submitted by April 9 and photos must be 8”x10” mounted and framed and taken by the person submitting this form. Entrants are asked to attach an entry slip to each photo giving name, age, title, email, phone.

All photos submitted will be listed for sale at $40 with 50% of the sale paid to the artist. A $10 donation for up to three photographs is requested and due upon delivery of photos. Each entrant is limited to three photos and are asked to prioritize photos in order of preference.

Photo must not be staged or altered by photo editing software beyond resizing and cropping.

Due to limited space all submitted photos are not guaranteed to be hung.

Submissions may be dropped off  April 8 from 12-4 p.m. and April 9 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Exhibition opens and public voting begins April 15, with an opening reception 5-7 p.m.

Artwork that does not sell must be picked-up: May 27 from 12-4 p.m. or May 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
