Catch Grace Church’s ‘Messiah’ on PEGTV

By Krista Johnson

Grace Congregational Church presents a special performance of Handel’s “Messiah” for 2020. This performance is a compilation of new videos performed by professional Vermont musicians and dancers, and audio recordings of the Rutland Area Chorus taken over the last 45 years.

If you would like to see the remarkable 2020 Grace Church version of “Messiah” on the “big” screen (of your TV), it will run on these days through the month of December: Mondays at 8:30 p.m., Wednesdays at 11:30 a.m., Thursdays at 6 p.m. and Saturdays at 8 a.m. It is also available at pegtv.com in the video on demand library under “PEGTV Channel 1075 Special Events.”

It has long been a tradition to bring white gifts to the manger on Christmas Eve.  This year these gifts will once again go to local missions such as the Boys and Girls Club, NewStory House, Dismas House, and local schools. Simply wrap your gifts in white, bring them with love, and place them in the vestibule by the covered West Street entrance before Christmas Eve. (The vestibule will be open Mondays 8 a.m.-8 p.m., Tues-Wed 8 a.m.-3 p.m., and on Christmas Eve.)

Some ideas for gifts: sweatpants, shirts, games, books, personal care items (soap, toothpaste, etc), kid’s backpacks, towels, art supplies. (Gifts like candles are not great.) To donate money, please use the mailbox slot in the door off Center Street.
