Castleton video festival winners announced

CASTLETON – Castleton College, in partnership with Vermont PBS, announces the winners of the 20th Annual Castleton Videofest held Friday, May 1, in Casella Theater. 

High school students throughout Vermont and the surrounding area submitted DVDs of original work in the following categories:

Documentary

Winner: “Helping Hands: Vermont’s Migrant Labor Population” by Luke Benz, Kyan Bietter, Nathan Cobb and Madeline Ganey of Middlebury UHS.

Second: “The Perfect Fit” by Harper Smith, Jerry Staret, Connor Quinn and Calder Birdsey of Middlebury UHS. 

Advertising/PSA

Winner: “Drive Distraction Free” by Kaelan Selbach-Brood and Aja Selbach-Brood of River Valley Technical Center.

Second: “What is Stafford?” By Kevin Richer of Stafford Technical Center. 

Narrative Fiction

Winner: “How To Not Do Your School Project” by Sebastian Durfee of Southern Vt. Career Development Center. 

Second: “Dynamism” by Rachel Carpenter of Stafford Technical Center. 

Experimental/Animation

Winner: “Dark Fluid” by Harrison Steeler and Ariana Catieller of Stafford Technical Center. 

Second: “We’ll Get By” by Kaleigh Gilbert of Stafford Technical Center.
