Brandon Music presents the Ken Silverman Trio

Saturday, Aug. 27 at 7:30 p.m.—BRANDON— The Ken Silverman Trio is a modern jazz guitar trio playing original compositions with rock, surf, blues, funk and classical influences. The music has the instrumental improvisational prowess of jazz, the compositional heft of classical music and the intensity of rock and blues. See them at Brandon Music on Aug. 27 at 7:30 p.m. for a concert that will feature music from the critically acclaimed 2015 release “Parallel Man” (SoundSeer) as well as new material from the to-be-released fall 2016 recording “Guitar Fantasies.”
All three members of the trio are active in the New York City jazz scene. In addition to his trio, Silverman (guitar and composer) has other musical endeavors, including performing in a swing band and participating in an electronic music project with Sound Designer Jean-Luc Sinclair entitled “Imaginary Planetarium.”
Scotland-born double bassist Sam McPherson performs in numerous jazz and classical contexts in the New York City area. Andy O’Neill, a graduate of William Patterson University’s jazz program, is one of the most creative drummers in the present New York City scene. O’Neill is also a bandleader in his own right, leading “Score,” a soul jazz project.
