Belly dancers perform in unison, celebrating the darker side of dance.

Saturday, Nov. 21 at 7 p.m. — WEST RUTLAND — Dancers from across Vermont and New England will be performing in this year’s Dancing Darkly event on Saturday, Nov. 21 at the West Rutland Town Hall Theatre. The doors will be open at 6:30 p.m. for the 7 p.m. show, and tickets will be available at the door for $10 per person. Vendors will also be present selling dance clothing, jewelry, and all kinds of accessories.

There is no set theme for this year’s event, leaving dancers to interpret “celebrating the darker side of dance” in their own ways. While Dancing Darkly started as a Halloween event, over the years it has grown into so much more. Embracing many different dance forms, it allows performers to experiment and push themselves in ways a typical hafla or dance showcase might not.

With months of preparation this event was made possible with the help of The Sisterhood of the Silk Road, Cobra Gymnastics and Dance, and Mermonkey Tattoo.
