BAG continues artful journey with summer classes starting this weekend

Sunday, June 5 at 1 p.m. — BRANDON — An artful journey continues as members of the Brandon Artists Guild (BAG) and the community offer opportunities to create. This year instead of creating works of art for the art education fundraiser, the guild is offering art classes so others can experience the joy of creating. Donations will be made to nine area schools. Sponsors are welcome.

On Sunday, June 5, “Come Play with Clay” will be offered from 1 to 3:30 p.m. with instructor Caren Helm. Students will learn the hand building technique of slab construction using stoneware clay. Individuals will roll out, cut and assemble a simple lidded box with feet. Carved designs, haiku poems and stamped patterns will help make your box unique. Helm will glaze and fire, and students will be advised of pick up at BAG. The fee is $45. A list of materials students need to bring will be sent to each enrolled person. The class is for adults only. Register at the BAG or call 802-247-4956.

Upcoming classes include “3-D Thinking” on June 26; “Acrylic and Collage” on July 17; and “Stained Glass Tree of Life” on Aug. 6.

All classes will be held at the Granary, 29 Union St., Brandon. For more info, call 802-247-4956 or visit brandonartistsguild.org.
