KILLINGTON — The former Grey Bonnet Inn & Resort was up for auction Tuesday, May 19, but no spectators registered to bid for the 41-room property on Route 100. The auction was to be held at 2 p.m., conducted by Thomas Hirchak Company, with registration and inspection starting at 1 p.m., however, shortly after a small crowd had amassed, Hirchak announced that no bidders had registered and the auction was, therefore, closed.

The 1970s inn includes a 125-seat dining room and bar, indoor and outdoor pools, hot tub, lobby living room, tennis courts. The assessed value of the property was listed at $1.45 million with yearly taxes of $25,685, and past due taxes of $30,373. Lease payments of approximately $29,000 for the land are also an annual cost as the 19.8 acres that the inn and resort reside on were leased by the Grey Bonnet Inn and the auction is for the leasehold interest only, not for purchase of the land.
