Artist Eva Zimet Publishes Debut Poetry

MONTPELIER— Rootstock Publishing, a Montpelier-based publisher and an imprint of Multicultural Media, Inc., announces the publication of The Lost Grip, a debut poetry collection by author-illustrator Eva Zimet of Montpelier, Vermont.

‘The Lost Grip, ‘a beautiful 6.5 by 6.5-inch square book featuring original artwork by Zimet, is a collection of poems, some punctuated with line drawings, about grief, mourning, healing, love, and self-discovery.

“In ‘The Lost Grip,’ I write about my struggles with loss and mourning, the trauma of those feelings, and what to do with the experience,” said Eva Zimet about her inspiration for the book. “The collection became a story of survival and exploring forbidden senses, and paring down what it takes to get up every day. I found that poetry allows for the force of beauty to draw on, draw out, and ultimately heal the pain and suffering of our lives. I wrote these poems to connect to the sense of being trapped, burdened, or displaced, and then to persevere,” she said.

“The Lost Grip” is available wherever books are sold and on Rootstock’s website, rootstockpublishing.com.
