Second graders in Miss Pierce’s class at the Mettawee Community School creatively learned about U.S. presidents.

WEST PAWLET—Second graders in Miss. Pierce’s class at the Mettawee Community School learned about United States presidents during the month of March. Each student picked a president and wrote a report and, with the help of art teacher Ms. Helmetag, painted a president. Students presented their reports to their families at the end of the month. Miss Pierce and her students plan to send this photo to the White House.

“The students were active learners during this unit and they were so proud of all the facts they learned about the president they studied,” said Principal Brooke DeBonis. “The students were well prepared for their presentations and the families enjoyed listening to the president reports and seeing the paintings of the presidents.”
