“Cooler in the Mountains” summer concert series returns, expands

Renews Long Trail Brewing and Farrell Distributing as presenting sponsors

KILLINGTON—The Town of Killington’s free concert series will return to the Killington Resort this summer with an expanded eight week schedule, and the town has once again secured Long Trail Brewing Company and Farrell Distributing as presenting sponsors.

A favorite summer event for both residents and visitors alike, the concerts feature top national acts on an outdoor stage at the resort’s Snowshed Adventure Center. This summer’s expanded concert schedule kicks off on Saturday, July 16 and continues for eight consecutive Saturdays through Sept. 3.  Concerts are scheduled from 3:30 to 6 p.m., and are often scheduled concurrently with other major events, such as the Killington Wine Festival (July 16), the Beast of the East Pro GRT (July 30), and Killington Bootcamp’s Race to the Peak (Aug. 20).

“We value our ongoing partnerships with Long Trail Brewing Company and Farrell Distributing and are thrilled to welcome them back as presenting sponsors,” said Amy Morrison, marketing and events coordinator for the town, in a recent press release. “Their participation has resulted in a steady increase in visitors and revenues during the summer months, and we are excited to see this momentum continue.”

Last summer’s lineup featured headliners The Dirty Dozen Brass Band and Donavon Frankenreiter, and attracted over 8,500 people to Killington. This summer’s musical lineup will be released at the beginning of the summer season.

Morrison said the concert series and its ongoing support from sponsors Long Trail Brewing and Farrell Distributing play a critical role in furthering the Town Select Board’s economic development goals, specifically by providing popular events that can increase year-round tourism.  The Snowshed Adventure Center is home to the Beast Mountain Coaster, high ropes course, zip ride, ATV/UTV tours and Segway tours.

“From music fans, to families, to outdoor enthusiasts and competitors alike, everyone is going to find something to love about Killington this summer.”
