Richard Sporbert, pictured third from left, was joined by Killington 100-Day Club members and Killington loyalists Don “Shortski” McNeil, who still maintains his perfect every-day ski attendance; Dan Hegarty; Larry and Peggy Golonka; and Nancy Finn. Sporbert celebrated his 80th birthday in February, still skiing strong!
Happy birthday to the oldest member of the Killington 100-Day Club
KILLINGTON—Richard Sporbert—a Killington enthusiast since 1965—celebrated his 80th birthday on Feb. 16 this year. Sporbert is an avid skier. His favorite trails are Patsies, Superstar and the natural woods. This 2015/16 season, Sporbert embarked, for the first time, on a quest to ski 100 days at Killington in a single season. Full of determination, perseverance and true grit—and despite a challenging weather season—Sporbert’s enthusiasm and spirit to ski 100 days never wavered.
The Killington 100 Club is pleased to announce that in late March, Sporbert was inducted into the 100 Club at Killington Peak Lodge.
“To our knowledge, Richard proudly enjoys the distinction of being the oldest member of the Killington 100 Club,” Rob Kovalesky, founding member of the Killington 100 Club, explained last week. “His remarkable, highly inspirational and motivational personal achievement is a benchmark for us all to aspire to.”
So when you see Richard on the slopes this spring, be sure to wish him a happy belated and kudos on his 100 days!
