ROGER MCGUINN

Thursday, April 7 at 7:30 p.m. — WOODSTOCK — Pentangle Arts presents an evening with Roger McGuinn at the Woodstock Town Hall Theatre on Thursday, April 7 at 7:30 p.m. An inductee of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, McGuinn’s unique playing style and timeless songs such as “Mr. Tambourine Man” and “Turn, Turn, Turn!” make him an ideal choice for this event.

Roger McGuinn is gifted with one of the most recognizable guitar playing styles and voice in popular music. During his time with The Byrds, McGuinn developed two innovative and very influential styles of electric guitar playing. The first was “jingle-jangle”— generating ringing arpeggios—which was influential in the folk rock genre. The second style was a merging of saxophonist John Coltrane’s free-jazz atonalities, first heard on The Byrds’ single “Eight Miles High,” which was influential in psychedelic rock.

Tickets are $35-$45, scaled seating. Woodstock Town Hall Theatre is located at 31 the Green, Woodstock. For more info, visit pentanglearts.org.
