Auditions being held for Issues Play staged reading

Wednesday, March 23 at 7 p.m. — RANDOLPH — Chandler Center for the Arts is holding auditions for the next installment of our Issues Play staged reading series, “Shot in Baghdad,” to be performed Sunday, April 24 at 7 p.m., directed by Kim Ward.

Auditions will be held on Wednesday, March 23 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday, March 27 from 4 to 6 p.m. Chandler is seeking 5 men and 3 women to play 20s – 30s, American and Iraqi characters. Reading will be held Sunday, April 24 at 7 p.m. If you can’t make an audition, please set up an alternate audition time by contacting vtplaywrightscircle@gmail.com or 802-229-0112.

About the play: A young Iraqi-American actor is hired by a company making a film about a tragic incident which occurred in Baghdad. He is overjoyed, even though it means traveling to Iraq to make the film. However, when the lines between reality and fiction become blurred, his dream of being a movie star devolves into a dark comedy of errors.
