Voter registration deadline is Wednesday, Feb. 24

Absentee ballots can be requested up to Feb. 29

Secretary of State Jim Condos and the Vermont Elections Division would like to remind all Vermonters that the deadline to register to vote is Wednesday, Feb. 24. You must register by this date in order to vote in the March 1 Town Meeting Day and Presidential Primary.

Vermonters can register in person at their town clerk’s office, by mail or online. If you register in person or by mail, you must complete this application:

www.sec.state.vt.us/media/33935/VTVoterApp.pdf.

It must be submitted to the clerk of the town or city in which you reside.

To register online, go to our website and locate the online application. It can be found here: https://olvr.sec.state.vt.us/.

Applications must be submitted no later than 5 p.m. on Feb. 24.

Those who will be unable to make it to the polls on March 1 can request an absentee ballot. The last day to request a ballot is Feb. 29. You can request a ballot by contacting your town or city Clerk via mail, phone, email, or fax, or by going online to the “My Voter Page”: https://mvp.sec.state.vt.us

The ballot must be completed and returned to your town or city clerk by 7 p.m. on March 1.

Our online system is a great one-stop resource for all Vermont voters. Go to the “My Voter Page” to register to vote, check your registration status, request an early or absentee ballot, locate your polling location, view a sample ballot, and more! Find this information on the Secretary of State’s website at https://mvp.sec.state.vt.us/.

“This is sure to be a great Town Meeting Day – a Vermont tradition which has taken place for over 200 years. The addition of this year’s presidential primary, with a Vermonter on the ballot, brings extra excitement to this Town Meeting Day and we are expecting a large voter turnout.  We are proud of our tradition and the strong communities it has helped build in Vermont,” states Secretary Condos. “I encourage everyone to get out and participate in Town Meeting Day and the presidential primary on March 1. Remember, your vote is your voice!”

Note that some town’s may have Town Meeting Day on Feb. 29. Verify with your local town office.
