Rutland Community Cupboard opens at new location

RUTLAND–Darren Childs, board president, and Kelly Giancola, executive director, cut the ribbon at the Rutland Region Chamber of Commerce ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Rutland Community Cupboard’s new location at 65 River St. in Rutland.

The Rutland Community Cupboard serves individuals and families who are in need of food, and all food items are free, thanks to the generosity of community donations. The Community Cupboard works closely with the Vermont Food Bank and the VT Fresh program to offer fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as fresh bread and frozen meat when available. The Community Cupboard also offers monthly cooking demonstrations with samples and recipes. Volunteers understand that it may be a difficult time in a family’s life and make every effort to create an atmosphere that is welcoming, comfortable and confidential.

The Rutland Community Cupboard is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday 4-6 p.m. For more information call Kelly Giancola at 802-747-6119.
