Killington Parks and Recreation announce four winter programs

Killington Parks and Recreation recently announced four new programs this for the winter season. They include: Youth volleyball clinics for students in grades 3-6 graders, Sports of All Sorts for Pre-K-4th graders, Parent Date Night, and Exercise Across the Byways. Plus, open gym hours start up for January.

Youth volleyball

This series of clinics will introduce skills and rules of the game to students in grades 3-6. Cassidy Tedeschi, Castleton Volleyball player, will lead the clinics at the Killington Elementary School on Mondays, Jan. 4, 18, and 25 and Thursdays, Jan. 14, 21, and 28, from 5:45-7 p.m. The cost is $20. Sports of All Sorts

Sports of All Sorts for Pre-Kindergarten-4th graders on Saturday mornings in January and February. This program is designed to introduce sports in a fun and instructional way. Each week will have a different sport and different focus. The series will run Saturdays, Jan. 9 – Feb. 27, from 9-9:45 a.m. for Pre-Kindergarten-1st graders and 10-11 a.m. for 2nd-4th graders at the Killington Elementary School . The cost is $25. Parent Date Night

Parent Date Night is a night out for parents. Drop your child off at Town of Killington offices located at 2706 River Road where movies, crafts, and games will be provided for the children.

Dates are Fridays, Dec. 18, Jan. 8, and Feb. 12 from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. The cost is $25 for first child, and $5 for each additional child in same family. Register at www.killingtonrec.com.

Exercise Across the Byways

The “Red Dot Exercise 3 Month Challenge,” aims for its participants to exercise their way through the BYWAYS of Vermont.  Vermont has 10 beautiful and historic Byways and the challenge will take you through all 723 miles of it! For more information on how to be a part of the challenge visit www.killingtontown.com and click on the recreation tab.  The Challenge will begin on Jan. 4, 2016.

Open Gym Nights

Town of Killington will host open gym nights beginning Jan. 10, for adult volleyball, adult soccer, and pickleball at Killington Elementary School. The cost is $2 per night.

Pickleball: Sundays, Jan. 10 – March 27 from 7-9 p.m.

Adult volleyball: Mondays, Jan. 11 – March 28 from 7-9 p.m.

Adult soccer: Thursdays, Jan. 14 – March 31 from 7-9 p.m.
