Sunday, Dec. 13 at 6:30 p.m. — RANDOLPH — The 2015-16 season of the Chandler Film Society continues on Sunday, Dec. 13 with Harold Lloyd’s “Safety Last!,” the movie with the iconic image of Lloyd dangling precariously from a tall building’s clock face.
Considered to be one of the great comedies of the silent era, Lloyd’s physical comedy includes a long climb up a five-story building. Lloyd, despite having lost a thumb and index finger while filming an earlier movie, does most of his own stunts, holding his own in the battle with the building. Thrown into the mix are his mother, his girlfriend back in the small town he’s left to make good in the “big city,” and a roommate named “Limpy Bill.”
Also showing will be a Buster Keaton short film, “The Scarecrow,” having perhaps one of the wilder (and possibly first?) motorcycle chases in movies.

Films show at 6:30 p.m. in Chandler’s Esther Mesh room, but come early for light snacks and beverages, and stay for Rick Winston’s informative commentary.
