ARC Christmas dinner dance to bring joy to Rutland families

Sunday, Dec. 13 at 12 p.m. — RUTLAND — ARC Rutland Area and the Elks Club are holding a Christmas dinner dance for people with developmental disabilities and their families on Sunday, Dec. 13 from 12 to 4 p.m. at the Elk’s Lodge on Pleasant Street in Rutland. Good food, family and friends, music, dancing, gifts and Santa, too, will be rounding out the afternoon.

Please call as soon as possible if you wish to attend, at 802-775-1370. Those attending the dances in the past have said they don’t feel as isolated, they feel more Joy, and it gives them something to look forward to.

This Christmas dinner dance is held to help create community amongst peers during the holiday seasons. ARC Rutland Area will provide this dance for people with developmental disabilities, their families and all others who are interested in learning more about the Rutland Area ARC or how to help those with disabilities.

ARC Rutland Area is an organization that advocates for the rights of citizens with developmental disabilities and their families to be regarded as valued citizens with the same entitlements as non-disabled individual, including the right to lifelong opportunities for personal growth and full participation in the community.
