RUTLAND—Late evening, Nov. 26, a manager at Dick’s Sporting Goods in Rutland contacted state police to report the theft of several North Face jackets, valuing approximately $1,000, by a woman with two accomplices.
According to the investigation, a woman and a man went into the store together. The woman went to the coat section and took the coats from the rack. The man then went through the checkout line with no items and exited the store so he could activate the sensor for the entrance door, allowing the woman to bypass the checkout lines and run out the entrance. They then jumped into a 1999 silver Nissan Pathfinder, seen heading south on Route 7.
The woman was described as appearing to be in her mid-30s and approximately 5’10”, weighing 150 pounds, with shoulder-length brown hair, missing several front teeth, and wearing a long grey puffy winter coat.
The man was described as appearing to be in his mid-20s, approximately 5’5”, weighing 135 pounds, with black hair and a scruffy, black patchy beard, wearing a long-sleeve black shirt and black athletic running pants with a white stripe down the leg.
The woman driving the get-away vehicle was not seen clearly but appeared to be in her mid-30s, wearing dark colored clothes. The vehicle was described as a 1999 silver Nissan Pathfinder bearing Vermont registration GNH604.
