RUTLAND — White’s Pool project will go to the Board of Aldermen Recreation Committee on Monday, Nov. 30 at 5 p.m. The meeting will be downstairs in the conference room near the Clerk’s office. The Rutland Recreation & Parks Department will present the work it has been doing with various committees and surveys to bring a project that will meet the needs of our community. There will be pictures of the pool area, the requested bond figure, operation costs and anticipated revenue. Cindi Wight, superintendent of the Rutland Recreation & Parks Department, will be making a recommendation to the Committee to put the project on the ballot as a bond item.
Members of the public are welcome and encouraged to attend.
The committee will be making a recommendation to the full board on Dec. 7 based on the results of the meeting.
The meeting for the full board is upstairs in the Chamber on Dec. 7 at 7 p.m. This meeting might be a simple motion made with a vote or go into more detail depending on how many Board members make the meeting on the 30th and if there is any follow up information requested from that meeting.
If the project is successfully voted to be put on the ballot the recreation department will host a public meeting to present the project to the voters. This might be a series of meetings to fully inform as many voters as possible, Wight explained.
“Our job as staff members is to make sure the public is fully educated on the project,” she said. “We will welcome volunteers that like to help present or will also appreciate invitations to present to your various groups.”
