Solar Energy round table discussion to be held in Killington, Nov. 7
KILLINGTON — Anyone interested in obtaining more information on the advantages of going solar is invited to a solar energy round table discussion, Saturday afternoon, Nov. 7 at 3-5 p.m. at the Sherburne Memorial Library’s Ann Wallen room in Killington, Vt. The Killington Energy Committee is hosting the event.
The discussion will include Killington home and businesses owners who have installed solar energy systems on their property. The intent of the gathering will be to provide information to anyone who is considering adding solar panels, or other energy saving solar devices to their property.
In addition it will be an excellent opportunity for all those who have already installed systems to share information regarding their rationale for going solar, how they went about doing it, and the performance of their systems. The Energy Committee will be prepared to discuss the remaining tax incentives and rebates. Often times new high efficiency cold temperature heat pumps are also installed thereby reducing heating and cooling costs. The committee hopes to have an expert on hand to talk about the use of geothermal heat pumps for heating and cooling, a representative from Green Mountain Power to discuss other available options and a local solar panel installation/integration expert.
“So, don’t be left out in the cold,” the committee says. Joining in on the informative session Nov. 7 and hear from your neighbors and the experts on just what going solar is all about.
