On Oct. 21 at 4 p.m. the Vermont State Police was dispatched to the Green Peak trail located off Dorset Hill Road in Dorset, Vt., for a reported rock climbing accident. The state police, Vermont Fish & Game Department, Dorset Fire Department and the Manchester Rescue Squad responded to the scene. The victim, later identified as Glen Rizio age 45, of Sunderland, Vt., was located deceased near a known rock climbing area. Rizio was rock climbing with a friend. The victim was wearing appropriate safety gear at the time of the accident, police reported. The investigation into the death of the victim is ongoing, but initially it is believed to be accidental in nature.
