Breaking and entering investigated at Shaw’s

POULTNEY — On Oct. 23, 2015  at approximately 4:45 a.m. Troopers responded to a report of an alarm going off at the Shaw’s Supermarket on 55 Depot Street in Poultney, Vt.

Upon arrival Troopers saw that the front door window of the store had been smashed and entry had been gained to the store. Troopers entered the building, searched it, and determined that no one was inside.

Investigation revealed that at approximately 4:16 a.m. two subjects had thrown a large rock through the front door window, entered the store and stolen three cases of beer.

Images of the suspects entering and leaving were captured by surveillance cameras. Their faces were covered, one with a black ski mask and one with a green scarf.

Anyone with information regarding this crime or anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area at this time is asked to call the Trooper Craig Hanson of the Vermont State Police at (802) 773-9101.
