Spartan “Fittest Bride” challenge held Sunday

PITTSFIELD — Riverside Farm is hosting a new competition this Sunday, Oct. 18, with a large prize for the bride-to-be who wins. Spartan brides will compete in a race to the top of the stone steps and back. The bride with the fastest time wins a free wedding reception in the gorgeous Green Mountain countryside at Riverside. The stone steps are located behind the brown barn at Riverside in Pittsfield, Vt. The course is approximately one mile up and one and a half miles down, with 1,000-foot elevation gain.

To enter the contest, brides-to-be had to provide a brief message telling the Spartan organizers about themselves, with a link to a photo. Contestants must be either formally engaged and/or planning to be married by summer 2016. The race is capped at 100 entries.

The contest will be filmed and televised.

The grand prize winner will receive a wedding reception for up to 100 guests at Riverside Farm’s classic Brown Barn on Saturday night, gourmet cuisine for up to 100 guests, all wedding coordination by Riverside staff, and free lodging for the bride and groom plus six guests at Riverside Farm.
