Motorcyclist dies in head-on crash, Route 7

PITTSFORD—On Friday, Sept. 18, at about 5:45 a.m., members of the Vermont State Police, Pittsford Fire Department and Regional Ambulance Service were dispatched to a reported two-vehicle crash on Route 7 in Pittsford, Vt. Vehicles involved were a 2001 Oldsmobile Alero and a 1983 Honda Shadow motorcycle. Initial investigation concluded the vehicles struck each other head-on.

The driver of the Alero was Shane Goodrich, 28, of Rutland. The motorcyclist was Bryan Greene, 43, of Leicester. Goodrich, who had been wearing a seatbelt, was transported to Rutland Regional Medical Center for minor injuries.

Greene was pronounced dead at the scene. Both vehicles were a total loss.

A portion of Route 7 was closed for about six hours and traffic was diverted around the incident while the initial investigation was taking place. Criminal charges are pending a complete investigation.
