CASTLETON—Tina and Andrew Robinson are pairing up with Andy Robinson and Lucas Livingston, ages 14 and 15 respectively, to go to Minnesota to compete in the NAIFC Championship on Dec. 19 and 20 on Mille Lacs Lake and Knife Lake.

The Castleton family will be representing the Champlain Valley Hardwater Tournament. The NAIFC invited only three teams from the series to compete in the national championship and they were selected. Of the 78 people that fished in the Champlain Valley Hardwater Tournament this year, Andrew Robinson came in third place, Tina Robinson came in 10th place, Lucas Livingston came in 11th place and Andy Robinson came in 17th place.

“Lucas and Andy are two of the youngest that fish in the Champlain Hardwater series and they will be some of the youngest to compete in the NAIFC tournaments,” said Tina Robinson.

“It is a great tournament we will be fishing with the best Ice Fishermen in the U.S. all competing for the title and a set of gold rings,” the family explained in a flier they’ve distributed. “This will be a great experience for Andy age 14 and Lucas age 15. They are some of the youngest to ever compete in the nationals. They will learn a lot and it will be a experience of a lifetime for both Andy and Lucas. All they do is think about fishing and with them competing at this young age and at this high level of fishing before long they will be a couple of the best fishermen around.”

Andrew and Andy Robinson will be competing as a team and Tina Robinson and Lucas Livingston will compete as a team. They will share their results in the paper in January.

All sponsors of $150 or more per team will get a logo on the team Jerseys and posts on Facebook. The family is asking for all sponsorships to be sent in prior to Oct. 1.
