Spectator Information

Killington Resort welcomes back Spartans — and those cheerleading from the sidelines — for the Spartan races being held resort-wide during the weekend of Sept. 19 and 20.

Home of the 2014 Spartan World Championship, this course is brutal. Located in what is known as “Joe’s backyard,” this land is where the company was founded, and that means anything goes: steep slopes, muddy waters, huge hills. This epic setting makes for one of the most bad-ass, challenging, demon-riddled Beasts of the year. Spartans will descend on Killington to tear up the terrains where Spartan Race has its roots — the course known to destroy the body, legs, mind and soul. This is a Spartan Race like the founders envisioned. They’ve gotten on their hands and knees to build the course. Participants have to do the same to complete it.

Starting at 7:30 a.m., waves of 250 competitors will take off every 15 minutes in the following categories: Elite, Confirmed, Morning, Afternoon. Race locations and information will be available on site.

Participants: Bring your friends and family to the race to watch you conquer obstacles, dominate the finish line and receive your medal!

SPECTATORS

If you’d rather watch the action than take part, Spartans love spectators! Spectator locations will be set up at the K-1 deck, the Roaring Brook Umbrella Bars, the Snowshed area and the Snowshed Pond. Cost is $20 online (www.spartan.com/en/race/detail/841/overview) until Friday prior to the event; or $25 on site — cash only. If you registers online, print your receipt and bring it with you to the Spectator Tent on race day to pick up your passes as none will be emailed.

Spartan Race spectators get $5 in Spartan bucks (redeemable at the merchandise tent), a festival map, access to view some obstacles on the course, the finish line, vendor tents, and hot food for sale on the grounds! Enjoy the music and watch your friends and loved ones slip and slide through the Spartan course, from the safety, comfort, and relative mud-lessness of the Spartan Race festival ground areas. Raffles, entertainment, spectator challenges, free muddy hugs from Spartan athletes, and all the other festival perks make this the best money you’ll ever spend. The next ticket you will want to buy will be a race entry!

A vendor village will be set up in the Snowshed area.

PARKING

Let’s decrease our carbon emissions! Space is available, but limited: $10 per car; $20 per van; $50 per bus or RV. Cash only, pay as you enter.

As a general rule, outside food and drink, coolers, and tents are not allowed. Spectators are welcome to bring a folding chair, backpack, etc. Spectators and competitors can also take advantage of 50 percent off Killington Adventure Center attractions.
