Saturday, Sept. 19 at 7:30 p.m. — WOODSTOCK — Pentangle Arts is entering its 41st Season, and is thrilled to present a diverse array of concerts, live theatre, movies and much more! The 2015-16 Season includes acclaimed international musicians; some of our community’s finest talent on stage; the return of National Theatre Live for a third season at Pentangle; and, as always, award-winning films and documentaries on the big screen. “In keeping with Pentangle’s mission, the 2015-16 season provides accessible art experiences that will educate, inspire and engage audiences of all ages,” explained Pentangle’s executive director, Alita Wilson.

Kicking off the season on Saturday, Sept. 19 at 7:30 p.m. at Woodstock Town Hall Theatre is Ricardo Lemvo & Makina Loca, an Afro-Cuban rhythm band. Pentangle members are invited to a special pre-concert reception to meet Ricardo Lemvo and his band. The public is encouraged and welcome to attend as well, with paid admission to the reception at the door.

October will usher in local actors, musicians, and talented crew to the main stage, as rehearsals and production of Richard O’Brien’s Rocky Horror Show kick into high gear. On Dec. 11, Latin American rhythm band La Voz de Tres will delight music lovers with a performance that celebrates the winter season and much more. International jazz artist and master musician Greg Abate leads the Greg Abate Quartet onstage April 1. Rounding out the main stage season, world-renowned composer and pianist Malek Jandali will perform on May 21.

The five main stage events are just a few highlights of a much larger schedule of offerings and events planned for Fall 2015 through Spring 2016. Added Wilson, “this season really meets my goal at the helm: to connect and integrate Pentangle Arts into the fabric of our community. We are doing this in many ways, including another season of our long running Dana Emmons Arts in Education series, which delivers a robust array of live music, dance, and theatre to area schools. This year’s line-up includes: the Villalobos Brothers; the hip-hop dance group, Rennie Harris RHAW; and Theatreworks’ critically acclaimed production of “The Lightning Thief,” amongst other exciting shows. These performances are in the mornings and are open to all area students, seniors, and adults with special needs.” Also for students, Pentangle will offer theatre and dance classes after school.

Pentangle continues to encourage community groups and non-profits to utilize the theatre space for film screenings and fundraisers at a minimal cost.

“Lastly, this season shines a brighter light of thanks to those individuals, businesses and Pentangle members, whose support allows us to continue to be a cultural steward for our community near and far. I’m confident that this Season in its totality — film, community theatre, music from around the globe, theatre and dance instruction – will provide authentic art and cultural experiences that create an exchange of ideas, raise issues for positive debate, and deliver a sense of connectedness between the organization and the communities it serves.”
