Central Vermont Chamber Music Festival gives encore performance in Woodstock

Violinist David Cerutti is one of six internationally acclaimed instrumentalists performing in the Central Vermont Chamber Music Festival.

Sunday, Aug. 23 at 4 p.m. — WOODSTOCK — Pentangle Arts is thrilled to once again welcome the Central Vermont Chamber Music Festival to Woodstock for an encore performance, Sunday, Aug. 23 at 4 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church.

Now in its 23rd season, the festival brings world-class music to the heart of Vermont, under the direction of artistic director and founder Peter Sanders. Over the years, this festival has earned its reputation as a major contributor to the summer music scene in Vermont and the Northeast. Mr. Sanders is a native New Yorker, a member of the New York City Ballet Orchestra and a graduate of the Manhattan School of Music.

Sanders brings with him six internationally acclaimed instrumentalists. Violinists include: Basia Danilow, who is also a member of the esteemed Lark Quartet and winner of the Artists International Competition; Arturo Delmoni, who is one of the most celebrated artists of his generation, and whom YoYo Ma describes as “an enormously gifted musician and an impeccable violinist; and Adela Peña, who can be heard on seven CD’s released by the EMI label and has received two Grammy nominations. Violists include David Cerutti and Kathryn Lockwood. The program will include: String Quintet #3 in C major, K. 515 – Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart; and String Quintet #2 in G major, Op. 111 – Johannes Brahms.
