29th annual Quilt Exhibition awards announced by Billings Farm & Museum

Lynne Croswell of Ludlow won the Jurors’ Choice Award for her quilt, “Leaf Skelton 2/Leaf Skelton 3.”

WOODSTOCK — Billings Farm & Museum announces the Billings Farm & Museum Staff Choice Award and the Juror’s Choice Awards, for the 29th Annual Quilt Exhibition, open daily through Sept. 20. Christy Thomas of Baltimore, Vt. received the Billings Farm & Museum Staff Choice Award for her quilt, “Glacier Star.”

The Quilt Exhibition is a juried show; this year Billings Farm & Museum asked each of the three jurors to select the quilt they thought most deserved to be recognized. The results: Lynne Croswell, Ludlow, Vt., was recognized for her quilt, “Leaf Skelton 2/Leaf Skelton 3,” by juror Mary Schilke; “Six Scrappy Corners” a quilt made by Carie Good, Woodstock, Vt. was selected by juror Pam Druhen; Virginia Umland, Wilder, Vt., was selected by juror Kathie Beltz for her quilt “Free Motion.”

The Quilt Exhibition features a colorful display made by quilters in Windsor County, daily activities, and programs. Admission includes the operating dairy farm, orientation and farm life exhibits, the restored and furnished 1890 Farm House, plus daily programs and activities.
