PLYMOUTH — Are you intrigued how an old photograph, diary, letter, map or object can give a window into the past? The public is invited to explore how these and other primary sources can inspire participants to create a variety of books that highlight ideas and stories to share with students, community, or family. A unique two-day workshop will be held on Aug. 3 and 4 at the President Calvin Coolidge Museum and Education Center in Plymouth. Teachers, historians, historical society curators, and any individuals who find primary sources compelling and would like to explore ways to have them show history as an evolving narrative are invited to attend.
The class will be led by Linda Lembke, bookbinder and book arts instructor, from Guilford, Vt., and Diane Kemble, education director for the Coolidge Foundation.
This class is sponsored by the Calvin Coolidge Presidential Foundation. Preregistration and payment are required by July 10 and full information is available at coolidgefoundation.org or by contacting education@calvin-coolidge.org or at 802-672-3389.
