KILLINGTON — Green Mountain National hosted the Killington Junior Golf Championship for the sixth straight year June 22–25. The 144 player field featured the top junior golfers ages 12-18 from 20 states and eight countries.

Based on early reports from the AJGA, the average party size of each participant in this year’s tournament was 2.4 people. Based on this early estimate, that translates to a total of 490 visitors to town over the course of the tournament. The town will receive a full report from the AJGA in July.

“The tournament provided a boost to rooms, meals and retail revenue,” said Town Manager Seth Webb. “It has also provided good exposure of our golf course to a key golf audience.”

Felicia Chang of La Habra, Calif., was the Girls Division winner with 3 over-par, while Connor Looney of Ridgefield, Conn., won the Boys Division at 2 over-par.

AJGA alumni have risen to the top of amateur, collegiate and professional golf. Former AJGA juniors have compiled from than 600 victories on the PGA and LPGA Tours.  AJGA alumni include Jordan Spieth, Brandt Snedeker, Bubba Watson, Webb Simpson, Hunter Mahan, Phil Mickelson, Tiger Woods, Stacy Lewis, Vicky Hurst, Inbee Park, Paula Creamer, Cristie Kerr, Brittany Lincicome and Morgan Pressel.
