Killington’s 4th of July activities include fireman’s picnic & raffle

Saturday, July 4 — KILLINGTON — The 4th of July Celebration and Fireman’s BBQ is one of Killington’s most popular events of the summer and a very special event. Enjoy wonderful food cooked by the fire department and other volunteers throughout the day. During the afternoon there will be fun filled games and entertainment. Bring a picnic blanket and be prepared to stay all day long!

Schedule of events: 

9 a.m. Friends of the Library book and craft sale

10 a.m. Parade on River Road

11 a.m. Johnson Recreation Pool opens

11:30 a.m. Fireman’s BBQ

12 p.m. Fireman’s raffle opens

1:30 p.m. Field games

3 p.m. Raffle drawing

3:30 p.m. Belly flop contest

7 p.m. Live music and entertainment

9:30 p.m. Fireworks show

All events are held on River Road, in Killington.

Killington Fire Rescue’s Search and Rescue Raffle: Proceeds from the raffle are used to offset expenses for the town-wide July 4 celebration and to cover expenses for training and special equipment that will help Killington Fire & Rescue to better serve the community. The list of great raffle prizes donated by the Killington community includes: 2015/2016 Killington Beast Pass; golf for 8 with carts and lunch on deck at Green Mountain National Golf Course; $500 Goodro Lumber gift card; one cord of kiln-dried firewood from Colton Enterprises; 150 gallons of heating oil from CV Oil Co.; $100 gift certificates to The Foundry, On the Rocs, Peppino’s and Sushi Yoshi; $500 cash donated by Chalet Killington and Peak Performance Ski Shop. Tickets will be sold until the drawing at the 4th of July Celebration. Only 1,500 tickets will be sold. Tickets are $10 each; $50 for six tickets; $100 for 12 tickets.

Also, residents of Killington should note that the Transfer Station will be closed on July 4.

Fireworks can also be seen at The Foundry on Killington Road at dark.
