Holly Gonyeau

On June 17, at about 5:50 p.m., Holly Gonyeau, 36, of Ferrisburgh, was traveling south on Greenbush Road in Ferrisburgh when her 2013 Chevrolet Cruz struck a bicycle ridden by Kenneth Najarian, age 60, of Charlotte, who was also traveling south. Najarian died at the scene as a result of the injuries sustained in the crash.

Gonyeau provided a preliminary breath test indicating a blood alcohol content of .123 percent. She was processed for driving under the influence and released on a citation to appear at the Addison County Criminal Court on June 29, to answer to a charge of Driving Under the Influence, in addition to others possibly.

The state police were assisted at the crash scene by the Vergennes police department and rescue squad and the Ferrisburgh fire department. The state police crash reconstruction team responded to assist with the investigation.

The case remains under investigation at this time. Anyone with information relating to this crash or who may have witnessed it is asked to contact Trooper Brett Flansburg at the New Haven State Police Barracks, 802-388-4919.
