GRANVILLE—On Thursday, June 18, Vermont state police, the Granville fire department and White River Valley Ambulance responded to a single vehicle accident on Route 100 in Granville. Investigation revealed that the operator, Harley Maxwell, 37, of Rochester, Vt., was driving north on Route 100 in Granville when, as he advised troopers, he attempted to avoid hitting a deer. When Maxwell swerved, he collided with guardrails, breaking through them. His truck, a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado, continued several hundred feet before colliding with a tree. Both Maxwell and his juvenile passenger were taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Both were wearing seat-belts. The truck was deemed a total loss.
