The U-19 girls team proudly holds their trophy.

On Sunday, June 7, following a spring chock full of victories, the Rutland U-19 girls team traveled to the Tree Farm Recreational Facility of Essex Junction to face last year’s champions, Essex.

In the first half, Rocky Johnson scored a try from a penalty in the first half. The conversion attempt from Kelley Daley was successful.

Essex would go on to score a try of their own, but it was left unconverted. With the scores standing at 7-5 in favor of the visitors, Gemma Fielder of Rutland scored another try for Rutland on the stroke of full time after breaking three tackle attempts.

Senior men

On Saturday, June 6, the Rutland men’s team did not see much success against Monadnock Wolfpack in Keene N.H. during a spring season friendly match. Though both sides were bolstered by rolling substitutions and team chemistry, physicality proved to be an issue at rucks and on occasional scrums as well.

Rutland was able to get on the score sheet through a try from team captain, Pete “Pepsi” Dayton.
