Sometimes Mother Nature does not cooperate. Despite hoping to open June 1, Killington had to close for the year after the gaps between snow banks grew too large. In a statement released May 28, the resort said, “Thanks to all who cheered us on in hopes of making it into June, but alas we will have to try again next year. With heavy rain and temperatures reaching 80 degrees many times in May, Superstar could not hold on for the final curtain call on June 1.”
