Rutland Blooms beautifies Northwest neighborhood

RUTLAND — Rutland Blooms beautifies the area, as they plant dozens and dozens of trees in the Northwest neighborhood and along Route 7.

They have volunteers from a host of businesses and organizations who will be helping out on Wednesday, May 27 and Thursday, May 28, including Rutland Young Professionals, the Vermont Country Store, Stafford Technical Center, Rutland High School, Efficiency Vermont, and Green Mountain Power.

All told, they plan to plant about 150 trees, many of them flowering crabapples. On Wednesday, they’ll be meeting at Rutland’s Main Street Park at 8 a.m. Thursday they will meet at 77 Grove Street at 8 a.m. City Forester Dave Schneider will give a planting tutorial and safety presentation before the volunteers break into teams to plant the trees.

Anyone who would like to help is welcome.  For more info, call 802-793-4031.
